The environments in Crysis will be huge. Each multiplayer map will span for many kilometres.

Crysis will be played in three main envrionments. The tropical jungle, the frozen jungle, and inside the alien ship. You will also spend a bit of time on the aircraft carrier which is positioned off the coast of the island.

Thanks to CryEngine2, Crysis will be able to display the most detailed environments ever to be seen in real-time.

This will enable Crytek to have more power over what they want the game to look like and what mood they want each scene to have. Let me go in to some more detail about each type of environment.

I maintain that the BFG cards run better, and AMD's takeover of ATi wasn't smooth enough, the cards overheat etc, altho saying that, I would probably be ok buying a Sapphire card knowing the quality of their builds. Still this is very off topic I'm sure, at the moment my (fairly well priced now) BFG 8800GS 640mb is getting some quality graphics from Crysis, so if anyone out there wants to up it and can't afford a GTX I'd highly reccommend this card

I have the bfg 8800gtx over clocked, and yeah its great :), which has lead me to a great impression of crysis :cheer:
Have you tried playing Beta with the latest Nvidia drivers? Any improvement?

DEMO ROCKED BIG TIME, i was really impressed with the visuals as expected! I ran it with my amd x2 5600+ 2gb ram and 8600GT XXX, all on high with sunshafts only shadows, water and texture on medium, and im getting average of 25fps lows can go as much as 15fps, all that on 720P resolution. Sandbox editor rocked bigtime I never before ever liked modding but SBE for crysis made modding so much fun and easy. Overall i liked every ascpect of the demo like hell...

You mentioned you'd be interested in hearing how things went with the Beta drivers?

Yeah. big difference.

The card was handling 1440x900 no AA everything else Max settings, the only thing I did notice was an interesting new kind of lag, I was experiencing a slight response delay in cutscenes (audio track basically out of sync with lips etc), but this was minimal when actually playing.

I'm beginning to think that with a patch to Crysis and the bugs in those drivers being fixed, I might just be able to keep everything maxed for the real game. (as it stands I'd still prefer to knock a few settings down to keep things in real time)

Now I have played the demo so much that my fingers have turned into little stumps.. maybe should save some of the fingers until the whole game.....or not..

Had some major problems with the demo in the beginning...The shaders had to be maxed..wich caused some lag ..if I lowered the Shaders the game looked like a Picasso painting....chaos that is

But then I found the latest forceware and it fixed it so now I´m happy happy happy

Running smoothly on 1680x1050 almost all on medium some high.. And the gameplay?? Lovely.. just like I had imagined it..the wait have definitely been worth it
