The story line of a game is very important. It can directly affect a games success and how well you enjoy playing it.

The story line in Crysis is quite familiar yet at the same time very unique. Although alien invasions and spaceships are nothing new to the world of stories, some of the details of Crysis are very unique. The effects the spaceship has aswell as how the aliens look and behave are all very unique. My point is, Crysis has a kick ass story line.

The Story
Earth, 2020: A colossal asteroid crashes down to Earth.

(yes, it was 2019, now Crytek is saying 2020)

Global tensions have reached boiling point as the U.S. and North Korea square off in the South China Sea. At stake: a mysterious artifact uncovered by a team of U.S. archeologists.

The North Korean government quickly seizes the area, prompting the U.S. to dispatch an elite team of Special Forces operatives on a rescue mission. During the siege the true nature of the artifact quickly emerges, pointing to the existence of an alien presence on Earth, and ultimately the trigger for a massive-scale alien invasion.

The battle to save Earth begins as the aliens’ flash freeze the tropics into a ghostly-white frozen landscape.

As gamers take up arms against the aliens, they will be outfitted with customizable weapons and a high tech Nanosuit, allowing them to adapt their tactics and abilities to a hostile, ever-changing environment and a mysterious enemy.

Quote by Roy Taylor, vice president of content for NVIDIA:

"Crysis is without a doubt the world's most advanced video game and the most important game to come out since Half-Life. We applaud our friends at Crytek and EA for their spectacular achievement. There's never been a game that looked this good and delivered such an immersive gaming experience. The only question is: Are you ready?"

Quote by Cevat Yerli, Crytek CEO:

"Originally we set two extreme and mutually exclusive goals: 1) pushing the boundaries of interactivity and non-linearity, and 2) achieving a realistic experience where you forget you're playing a game. With the deep technical expertise of NVIDIA's world-class support team, we achieved these two seemingly impossible goals, defining the heart of Crysis. We developed Crysis on NVIDIA graphics processors and we recommend GeForce 8800 graphics cards for the best experience."

Crysis lets you experience lush tropical environments and incredible powers thanks to the Nanosuit. Image captured on NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX.

NVIDIA helped Crytek incorporate a host of DirectX 10 features including depth of field and advanced fire effects.

Players will need to fight through a variety of environments, both on earth and in space, against human and alien enemies. Image captured on NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX.
