An european press event was held by Ubisoft, which was covered through the developers blog.

A number of European gaming journalists (whose articles you should be seeing in gaming magazines and web sites right now!) were invited to view Far Cry 2 at the beginning of December. The event was conducted in our largest room, generally used for weekly team meetings, which was specially converted just for the day. This was the first time Far Cry 2 had been seen by the public since the Leipzig Gaming Conference last August. The room before the madness begins. It has no idea what’s in store!

Phase 1 complete. Black curtains surround the room and the first HDTV is brought in.
Just in case you forgot, this is a Ubisoft game!
Coloured lights are set up to get everyone in the mood. “What kind of mood?” you ask? I’ll let you decide.
The magic of AAA game development: HD monitors sitting on regular printer paper boxes!
Huge concept art posters are brought in along with jungle plants.
More high tech game industry magic: the poster lights are actually our desk lamps attached with rubber bands!
Almost there…traffic is being directed.
The game is up and running…and kimi_ puts it through a quick play test.
This was kimi’s last week on Far Cry 2. *sniff* (I know i want to be in her seat

)
Catered food and drinks; because talking about awesome games is hard work!
The journalists arrive and are about to be treated to a never-before-seen demo of Far Cry 2.
From left to right: Louis-Pierre Pharand (Producer), Alexandre Amancio (Art Director), Clint Hocking (Creative Director) answer questions after the demonstration.
Afterwards, a journalist gets a one-on-one question and answer session with Producer Louis-Pierre.
The event is over. Now we have to get back to work on the game!
Here are just a few of the covers that Far Cry 2 will be appearing on soon:
Be sure to check back next week for the answers to your questions from LP’s post earlier this month.
