1) Browse the rest of the information center If you see frequently asked Crysis questions on the forum or anywhere else which are not included in the list below, please email me and I'll add them to the list. FAQ No, this website is not run by Crytek. This is simply a fansite dedicated to providing fans of the game Crysis with information, media, a discussion forum and many other things. 2) When will Crysis be released? The North American and European release date for Crysis is officially November 16, 2007. Australia and New Zealand however will be receiving the game a day earlier on November 15, 2007. 3) Will there be a Crysis demo and when? Yes, there will be a Crysis demo. No official announcements have been made on when the demo will be released, but it's very likely the demo will be released only a few weeks before the full game. 4) Will there be a Crysis beta and when? Yes, there will be a Crysis beta. It is unclear when the beta will be made available, but we do know that there will be a limited number of keys (between 15,000 and 25,000 most likely). That's all we know at this stage. 5) What are the system requirements for Crysis and will my system run it? For obvious reasons (unoptimized code, ever changing hardware.etc) system requirements are not released until the game is almost ready. The best resource for learning about the requirements of Crysis is the System Requirements page here at Crysiseu.com
6) Will there be any console versions of Crysis? Crytek are focusing soley on the PC version of the game. Once Crysis is on the shelves, then they'll start thinking about what to do next. So there is a possibility of Crysis been ported to the consoles. There's also the possibility that Crytek will make a whole new game for the consoles, but Crytek are primarily PC game developers. CryEngine2, the engine powering Crysis has been developed to work on PC, Xbox360 and PS3. This is so Crytek can license the engine to console developers and does not make any indicate a possible console port of Crysis. 7) If Crytek do port Crysis to the consoles, will they do it better than they did with FarCry? Crytek are not responsible for any console versions of FarCry, the only game Crytek have made is FarCry for the PC, Crysis will be their second ever game. Crytek sold the FarCry franchise to Ubisoft around 2 years ago and have since had nothing to do with FarCry besides the patches. 8) Do I need Windows Vista or a DirectX10 graphics card to play Crysis? No, most certainly not. Crysis supports all versions of Windows XP including the 64-bit edition and therefore supports DX9. 9) Will Crysis support widescreen monitors? All you have to do is watch any of the off-screen gameplay movies available. You'll see that 90% of the time, Crysis is being played on a widescreen monitor so I guess that answers the question. Yes. 10) I've heard that Crysis will have seperate servers for DX9 and DX10 players. Does this mean I won't be able to play with my friends if they have DX10 and I don't? No, you'll be able to play with or against your friend. There are two ways of making this possible. Either you upgrade your graphics card and operating system, or you tell your friend to put their game into DX9 mode. Those with DX10 have the advantage as they can play on both DX10 and DX9 servers where as those still using DX9 are restricted to playing only on DX9 servers. 11) Does Crysis support any specialty hardware? Yes, however Crysis will not support the Ageia PhyX card due to the fact that Crytek have built their own proprietary physics engine which is not only more advanced than Ageia's, but performs very well on ordinary CPU's. What Crysis will support is 64-bit operating systems, multi-core processors, DX9 through to DX10 and many gaming devices such as gamepads. On top of that, the Sandbox editor that comes with Crysis supports the use of a webcam (or any other video capturing device/camera) to animate character expressions. 12) How can I support Crysiseu.com? Becoming an active member of the forums is one way. There's also the option of donating. Thanks to author Scott6969( CrysisEU Admin) |
